2003 China Cup Golf Championship
September 27, 2003

The 2003 China Cup Golf Championship took place at Tamarack Golf Club on Wednesday, September 24th, 2003. At this year's outing, we were honored to be joined by the Consul General of China for the opening ceremony. Fellow committee members: Tak Ming Lee, Peter Chan, Alan Chu, Eden Chan, King Tse, Josephine Luk, Francis Yip, and Dobby Yu participated and joined in on the festivities this year.
As with the championships from the previous years, this year we also had many great golfers who participated. Everyone put in their best effort, but here are a few that stood out amongst the crowd. With the longest drive are: Alan Wong, Michael Kim, Eddie Lau, and Doug Van Vuren. This year, five people were closest to the pin: Norman Shawn, Al Evers, Mark Liu, Larry Hao, and Raymond Wong. After some friendly competition, five winners came up. At fifth and fourth place with a tied score are Joy Yrasub (5th) and Steve Tao (4th). Third place goes to Walter Yuen and second place was taken by Bob Vanek with a one point difference! The first place winner of the 2003 annual China Cup Golf Championship is Michael Chen. We appreciate everyone who came out to participate in this event.
Thank you to the 2003 Annual China Cup Golf Outing sponsors: Harris Bank, Lakeside Bank, Village Ford - Bolingbrook, Global Products, Landmark Property, Carney Insurance Agency, Oakbrook Bank, Horseshoe Casino, Harrah's Casino, American Family Insurance, and King Tse from John Hancock, for making this event possible. Please look forward to the next golfing event next year.
